In conjunction with the renovation of “KARASUMA SHOES TERRACE,” the sneaker-focused shoe department at Daimaru Kyoto, we proposed fixtures and equipment for the event space.
This space is a “fluid environment” where encounters with new brands and cultures take place. To reflect this concept, we adopted a fixture design featuring organic forms infused with a contemporary aesthetic. By changing its appearance for each event, it offers visitors a fresh experience. For the shoe risers, we used fiber panels made from recycled denim and jute sacks originally used for coffee beans, sandwiched between colored MDF. This sustainable design, which combines different materials, achieves a display that balances functionality with environmental consideration.
