We have confirmed that a company employee's computer was infected with the "Emotet" malware, resulting in multiple suspicious emails being sent to various individuals by a third party impersonating our employees. We sincerely apologize for the significant inconvenience and concern this has caused our customers and all related parties.
One characteristic to help identify suspicious emails is that the displayed sender's name and email address do not match.Emails from our company use the address "*****@pearl-idea.co.jp". Emails arriving from the old address (Pearl Mannequin) "*****@pearl-mq.co.jp" should also be considered suspicious. This email address has not been in use since February 2021.
Opening any files attached to these suspicious emails may result in malware infection or unauthorized access.
Therefore, if you receive a suspicious email purporting to be from our company, please verify the sender's address. If the part after the @ symbol differs from the addresses listed above, please delete the entire email without opening any attachments or clicking any URLs within the body.
In response to this incident, we are working to prevent further damage and will continue to strengthen our information security measures. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
